"The New is a symbol of a new beginnings for our culture and our community", claims Sherbinski without hesitation, while vaping on a quiete sandy beach just outside Barcelona, with his friends and partners from Humboldt Seed Organization.
Sherbinski flew all the way to Barcelona for the premier of his debut collab with HSO, and it goes without saying it was nontstop fun conversing at the HSO booth during the Spannabis fair. In true Cali fashion, the smell and sight of properly cured organic weed never seem to end as the facility soon filled up with on-lookers and participants hoping to get a taste of the notorious strains created by Sherb like Pink Panties, Mochi and Bacio Gelato.
For those who don't know it, Sherbinski is one of the top names in the U.S. Cannabis scene, named the creator of the Louis Vuitton of marijuana by Forbes Magazine both for selling his Cannabis line at exclusive boutique shops such as Barneys New York and for being one of those reputable new breeders who came up with the recipe for the highly-acclaimed Gelato. A cannabis celebrity the stay the least on and off the camera, Sherbinski is excited about this new project launched alongside Ras and Diggs Terra from HSO.
"Growing up in California in the '90s, the word Humboldt was synonymous with quality Cannabis", he says. "Humboldt County has always been known as the place where the best Cannabis comes from". "When I first met Humboldt Seed Organization, there was a natural connection", he acknowledges.

"Through the Cannabis plant and through our work, everything's gonna literally change. I can already see it in our communities: there are more people having access to CBD and to Cannabis, and this is a regular part of their life. Then people are going to be happier, they're gonna be in better health". Sherbinski's pretty sure about it: a new era has certainly begun following the increased access to Cannabis, and nothing embodies this new beginning better than The New.
Mario and Diggs Terra totally agree. This and their common passion for the plant have been the driving force behind this new great connection. While the former would breed genetics in his grandma's basement in the San Francisco Bay Area, the latter would crossbreed plants hidden who-knows-where in the Redwood forest of Humboldt. Now they share knowledge on breeding without fear and create a variety with very specific core values: the end of the darkness cast by prohibition and the start of a new era where anyone can work freely and without fear of reprisal.
Diggs Terra explains it way better: "I think now we're coming to a point where we let go that fear that was driving us and we get to focus on the real work… I'm not saying I'm happy with the laws and the taxes and all of that, but I do feel a certain relief from the anxiety of prosecution, now that we can exist under a certain umbrella to be able to operate".
