HSO Amherst Sour Diesel (Amherst 81st)

Chemdawg(pre-90's) X Amherst Super Skunk Flowering period: 10 weeks Indica/Sativa: 20/80 In collaboration years ago with our friends at Emerald Mountain, we were honored with an exchange of some of the most pivotal genetics introduced into the North American market. This elite clone was first brought from New York in the early 90's.This cross consisted of Chemdawg (bag seed), combined with the strength, vigor, production, resistance and flavor of the Amherst Super Skunk. The Chemdawg used to make this cross predated the divide of diverse expressions in the lineage today. The suceeding generations created such greats as the Chem'91, Chem#4, and the Chem D. "Family genetics" have greatly influenced the evolution of cannabis in the mainstream hybrid market."Family ", for those of you who are not familiar, are an elite group of Grateful Dead Tour kids who were the driving force behind the underground trade of cannabis. Their genetics have evolved for more than 3 decades. HSO was cut from this cloth.

Two dominant phenotypes appeared from these crosses and the selection used in this was the high producing, indica leaning variety. The other was an extremely pungent, resinous, yet less productive phenotype used for breeding purposes. Both have been very influential in the development of a number of boutique and highly demanded varieties in the market. Remaining elusive for many years has helped to bring these varieties to legendary status with notable dollar value. #TeamHSO is very excited about this release as this is the household favorite among most of the breeders, performing from all angles. The ability to fuse flavor as well as resistance and yield into other varieties with the ASD has made this a staple in exploring other genetic possibilities within our library. Ras-Truth from Emerald Mountain Seeds has been at the forefront of this strain. He was around from the hybrid beginnings and has played a major role in the evolution of breeding cannabis, using only the meticulously selected varieties as the foundation of his breeding schedule. Rooted in spirituality, the process of growing cannabis has always been a sacred practice in connecting with the Earth and one self. So it is only natural overtime one becomes more in tune through the art of observation allowing this connection to deepen. This practice has created a reflection that shines with the Amherst Sour Diesel among many others under his guidance. At the end of the day, truth is truth and this is all that matters to the breeder known as "Ras-Truth". The Amherst Sour Diesel has a very strong and aggressive root system. This plays a major role in flower development during later stages. ASD is slightly nitrogen demanding, so take it into consideration when planning the feeding schedule for the vegetative and flowering period. Broad fan leaves with dark forest green color have ample spacing between them, thus lending excellent light penetration into the canopy, considering the indica dominant expression. The result is rock hard bud production all the way to the bottom of the stem. This helps to reinforce the high yielding capability as well as very even terminal site development.

The flavor profile of the Amherst Sour Diesel is very deep and complex. Strong sharp gassy overtones arrive directly into the jaw-line. The salivary glands are immediately activated causing the mouth to water. Following are accents of citrus and pine left with a resonating peppery finish. All of this transfers remarkably into the taste. These are the exact traits we strive to identify as being critical in the selection process.

The Amherst definitely captivates the attention of many as the unique expression from this plant leaves most in high demand. We are so excited to finally set this one free to be experienced by the global public.
