Chemdawg #4 and the story behind our Chemdawg

Our very own Chemdawg's story

The story behind Chemdawg has a rich history. The influence of the Grateful Dead from the late 60's until the death of Jerry Garcia in 1995 played a major role in the layout of the cannabis market today in North America. People from all over the nation caravanned in large numbers following the band from city to city countrywide. This legacy carried on after 1995 as many continued with the newfound resources and connections from their touring. A good portion settled down throughout the Emerald Triangle located in Northern California. (Mendocino, Humboldt and Trinity Counties) During time on tour most survived off merchant trading in parking lots of the Grateful Dead shows working with a wide range of goods, both legal and illegal. The idea of breaking away from the redundancy of societal norms drew most deeper into personal exploration. Cannabis along side LSD was a major catalysis for many explorative experiences, especially on tour. Chemdawg was born from the circle of this underground world. TeamHSO has been closely connected to the origins of their humble beginnings. Many greats have emerged out of the lineage such as O.G. Kush, Amherst Sour Diesel, Sour Diesel #1, Underdawg, Headband, Emdog and the New York City Sour Diesel. It's safe to say that the Chemdawg is one of the most demanded parentage lines of the North American hybrid movement.

Chemdawg #4 is born

Humboldt seeds is proud to present our Chemdawg #4. This along with our Chemdawg '91 and the Chemdawg D have their own unique traits. The Chemdawg #4 has rapid vegetative growth with the expressions leaning towards the sativa parentage. Known for vigorous foliage development and deep forest green hues, the infrastructure is supported by long inter-nodal spacing. Though tall and lanky in stature, Chemdawg remains indica dominant. This pheno maintains a high demand for nitrogen considering the 10 week + flowering period. It's important for both indoor and outdoor gardens the Chemdawg #4 is given additional support. Trellising is recommended for optimizing production. Chemdawg's high metabolism should be taken into account when planning a feeding schedule. During the flowering period one should expect Chemdawg to more than double in size. Long tightly connected sets play out to be large gassy colas. Trellising works best to support the weight of the buds which finish in 70-77 days as its well worth the wait. Outdoors Chemdawg can be expected to harvest by the middle to the end of October. With slight susceptibilities to powdery mildew preventive measures should always be applied ahead of time. Large circular cages are recommended for vertical growth as we also use a secondary layer of trellising for added support for the finish. Reaching heights of 10-16 feet, securing the plant is critical. Be sure to clean out the inside of the Chemdawg well allowing an ample amount of airflow, minimizing the potential development of fungal pathogens. The flavor profile of the Chemdawg lives up to its legendary status. Sharp lemon, pine and gassy overtones are accompanied by spicy pepper undertones with a citric finish. These pungent aromas transfer directly back to the flavor remaining tasty to the last hit. Chemdawg #4 makes great concentrate as well. This amplifies the unmistakable essence it has become so famous for. It`s quite easy to understand how it´s been fused to so many varieties for more than two decades. The effect of the Chemdawg is incredibly cerebral. The indica dominant hybrid is great for pain relief as well has being an excellent sleeping aid. With a very strong THC potential, we have seen our Chemdawg as high as 22%. One should err on the side of caution when engaging in usage.

This North American classic has been one of the leading influences in the modern day hybrid movement. It's absolutely one for every library and team HSO is proud to be a part of the preservation of this remarkable genetic lineage. QUALITY X PRESERVATION X DEDICATION = HSO
